55+ Facebook Statistics & Trends [2026 Update]
Facebook still reigns supreme in the social media universe and is, without question, one of the most powerful social media platforms available. It's common knowledge that Mark Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook (originally called "The Facebook") back in 2004, and the company rapidly expanded.
In 2012 Facebook bought Instagram, then in 2014, it acquired WhatsApp. In October 2021 "Facebook Inc," the parent company of all three platforms, changed its name to Meta.
After a sharp dip in value during 2022, Meta has roared back. Powered by its advertising engine and heavy AI investment, the company reached a record market capitalization of around $1.6 trillion in early 2026, with full-year 2025 revenue of roughly $200 billion.
Facebook continues to hold on tight to its title as the world's most popular social media platform.
Here, I've compiled 55+ up-to-date Facebook statistics for 2026 to give you a comprehensive insight into the current state of the world's favorite social media platform.

Reality Labs, Meta's VR and AR division, generated around $2.2 billion in revenue in 2025, but continued to post heavy operating losses (over $4 billion in a single quarter) as Meta invests in AR/VR and AI.

In early 2026, Meta's market capitalization reached around $1.6 trillion, a record high, recovering strongly from its 2022 lows.
Facebook's worldwide Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) climbed to around $57 in 2025, an all-time high, reflecting Meta's improved ad targeting and pricing.

The top five most popular Facebook pages include Facebook itself, Cristiano Ronaldo, Samsung, Real Madrid, and Mr Bean.
India leads the way in total Facebook users, with around 580 million Facebook users - by far the largest national audience, ahead of the United States.

The average Facebook post enjoys an organic reach of 6.4 likes.
More than 50% of the world's population speaks a language that isn't one of the top ten worldwide spoken languages. Therefore, Meta is currently teaching AI to translate 100s of languages in real-time instantly.
On average, Facebook is accessed 8 times per day, followed by Instagram (6 times per day), Twitter (5 times per day), and Facebook Messenger (3 times per day).

Chapter 3

As of 2026, around 56% of Facebook's user base is male, and 44% is female.
The largest age group using Facebook is 25 – 34-year-olds (around 31% of the audience). The platform is used the least by 13-17-year-olds.
The top five leading countries based on Facebook audience size are India (around 580 million), the USA (around 280 million), Indonesia, Brazil, and Mexico.

Facebook's top advertising audience is between 18-44 years old, with the most engagement being males ages 25 – 34 years old.
Facebook's 13-17-year-old user base has halved since 2015. The exodus is largely attributed to young people moving over to TikTok.
74% of high-income earners use Facebook to seek diverse products to purchase. The high-income category includes those earning at least $75,000 per month.
Chapter 4
Facebook Marketing Statistics
There are over 200 million businesses with a presence on Facebook, and around 10 million businesses actively advertise on the platform.
62% of people claim their interest in a product increased after seeing it in a Facebook video.
Consumers are 53% more likely to purchase from a brand that is easily accessible via Facebook Messenger.

Chapter 5
Facebook Advertising Statistics
Facebook (Meta) is responsible for a large share of all digital ad spending, alongside Google and Amazon as the three dominant players in online advertising.
10.15% of Facebook users use the platform specifically to seek out new products to buy.
Meta's advertising revenue exceeded $190 billion in 2025, with Facebook the single largest contributor and ad revenue making up around 98% of Meta's total income.

With a $20,000 budget, an ad will reach around 750,000 people. This is a dramatic decrease from 2020, when the same budget would have gotten you a 10 million reach.
Every year, Facebook receives an extra 1 million advertisers.
Facebook penalizes ads that don't offer consumers a good ad delivery experience. Generic ads won't cut it. Therefore, advertisers need to be thinking about providing unique and personalized ads to catch the eye.
Out of all devices used for advertising, smartphones account for 94%. Facebook received 94% of its advertising revenue from mobile devices.
Revenue from mobile devices remains around 94% of Facebook's total ad revenue, up from 92% in 2020.
Summary
It's been a remarkable turnaround for Facebook, AKA Meta. After a rough 2022 that hit the company's value hard and triggered mass layoffs, Meta has rebounded to record revenue and a market cap around $1.6 trillion, fueled by AI and a resurgent advertising business.
The platform continues to grow and enjoys huge profits. But, as younger users gravitate toward TikTok and other apps, it remains to be seen whether Facebook can keep pace with the changing times.
